When I first met with Catherine & Patrick, I could not help but feel at home with this pair! Their love story began with an impromptu meeting at a local pub in Buffalo, NY during March Madness. Both were cheering on Syracuse that day and despite the team’s loss, in Catherine’s words, “We found love in a hopeless place!”
Their relationship grew from a shared appreciation for sports and evolved into enjoying an active lifestyle together. From traveling, spending as much time in the outdoors, to going on long hikes in the gorge with their chocolate lab, Winston. Their warmth and hospitality were never in short supply throughout the planning process. As their wedding coordinator, it was important for me to ensure that every guest felt the same exact way.
The wedding fell on a brisk fall day in early October with the leaves nearly at their peak. Checking in on the bride and her bridal party, I was met by nothing but bright smiles as they got ready at Hotel Lafayette. The couple exchanged vows at St. Joseph’s Cathedral surrounded by their family and friends.
Celebration continued in Hotel Lafayette’s grand Marquis Ballroom which looked so elegant with the help of Maureen’s centerpieces and plenty of romantic candlelight. I wasn’t surprised to discover that Catherine & Patrick’s kind and youthful energy was equally matched by their friends and family who danced the night away with the help of DJ Spooky Stephen— not one person left the dance floor early! Cheers to such a memorable day that I’m so grateful to have been a part of.
